Hematology and Lymphoid System: 35 y/o man with fever, night sweats and weight loss
Clinical Presentation:
35 year old Caucasian man with no significant past medical history presents with a complaint of a productive cough with accompanying fever, night sweats and weight loss of 10 lbs over the past 3 months. He also noticed a nodule in his neck. Physical exam was significant for a temperature of 39.2 degress celcius and a palpable lymph node in the left neck. Laboratory tests showed a white cell count of 7,000, hematocrit of 36.7 and platelets of 241,000.
