Joseph C. Eggleston Research Award Winners
Congratulations to Drs. Bishop and Hristov who were awarded Joseph C. Eggleston Research Awards! Their projects are as follows:

Alexandra C. Hristov/ Resar, Maitra, Iacobuzio-Donahue: HMGA1/HMGA2 and COX-2 expression in Pancreatic Duct Carcinoma
Dr. Burger Receives 2007 Fred Stewart Award
Peter Burger, M.D. received the 2007 Fred Stewart Award from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. As a part of receiving this award Peter gave a lively talk with humorous anecdotes on his career as a book author. Seventh Annual Current Topics in Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology CME conference

The Johns Hopkins Division of Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology will present the conference for practicing pathologists, pathologists in training and other clinical specialists who interface with gastrointestinal and liver pathology.

National Medical Laboratory Week
To conclude National Medical Laboratory Week, Dr. Brooks Jackson, joined by Barbara Parsons, Kurt Michael and Estelle Piwowar-Manning, summarized the Pathology department's involvement with international clinical trial research.

Congratulations to Second Year Hopkins Pathology Resident Dr. Julie Wu!
Dr. Wu received the prestigious Stowell-Orbison Award for her poster presentation, "Heterogeneity of Breast Cancer Metastases: A Rapid-Autopsy Study Using Matched Primary-Metastasis Tissue Microarrays (TMAs)", at the 2007 United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology Annual Meeting in San Diego California on March 26, 2007. The award is given to pathologists-in-training who present the best papers through the medium of a poster presentation. Click here for Dr. Wu's abstract

Pedram Argani to receive the 2007 Arthur Purdy Stout Prize
Congratulations to Dr. Pedram Argani. Dr. Argani will receive the 2007 Arthur Purdy Stout Prize at the the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology meeting in San Diego. The prize recognizes significant career achievements in Surgical Pathology by young surgical pathologists whose research publications have had a major impact on diagnostic pathology. Dr. Argani will receive this prestigious award Sunday, March 25, 2007 at the meeting of the Arthur Purdy Stout Society.
