  Graduate Program in Pathobiology

The Application Process:   Apply online or Request paper application materials
Applications should be complete when submitted. Sealed letters of recommendation and transcripts may be sent separately or attached to the application. If they are being sent separately, please indicate this in an attachment to your application form.

Application Deadline: The deadline for the application form, GRE scores, transcripts and letters of recommendation is January 10. All candidates will be notified of the Admission Committees decision by April 10.

Application Forms: Complete all items on the forms, preferably typewritten. Please attach to the completed Application Form a typewritten description (1-2 page maximum) of any prior research experience; and a description (1-2 page maximum) of your personal career goals. In addition, except where specific page limitations are noted, you may attach extra sheets to expand upon any answers where you feel it is necessary. A photograph of yourself is optional; if you include a photograph, attach it to the upper left corner of the Personal Data Sheet.

Application Fee: A non-refundable application fee of $80.00 for one program, $100.00 for 2-3 programs, and $150.00 for 4 or more programs is required of ALL applicants. For paper application, the fee is $100 for one program, $150.00 for 2-3 programs, and $200.00 for 4 or more programs. There's a $25.00 fee for Johns Hopkins University students currently enrolled in a degree program and Johns Hopkins University employees. Payment must be made by check or money order payable to THE JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY. Foreign applicants should send international money orders in U.S. currency for the amount of $80.00, $100.00, or $150.00 for online application or $100.00, $150.00, or $200.00 for paper application. Do not send currency. Checks drawn on foreign banks will not be accepted-applications will be returned.

Transcripts: Official transcripts or certified records of all college and/or university study (undergraduate and graduate) must be submitted. If you have attended more than one institution, transcripts from each institution must be forwarded to the Graduate Program in Pathobiology. If information on your current courses is not included in your transcript, send a list of your current courses as well as courses to be taken before beginning graduate study. Please note that transcripts will not be returned.

Letters of Recommendation: Request at least two faculty members who are acquainted with you and your academic work to send statements of your qualifications for graduate study to the Graduate Program in Pathobiology. These letters should comment on your aptitude and promise for independent research.

Graduate Record Examination: GRE Scores, General Test is required by the Graduate Program. Students should request that the results of the Graduate Record Examination be sent directly to the University, using the GRE CODE: 5316

Transfers: An applicant desiring to transfer from another school must be in good standing at that school.
