Ophthalmic Pathology
The Ophthalmic Pathology division of the Pathology Department is located within the Wilmer Eye Institute, which facilitates close contacts with clinicians and researchers in Ophthalmology. Approximately 1,600 ophthalmic surgical specimens and over 100 globes removed at autopsy are examined each year. Dr. Charles Eberhart has been chief of the division since 2006. He is board certified in Anatomical Pathology and Neuropathology, and is a member of the American Association of Ophthalmic Pathologists and the Verhoeff Zimmerman Society. His special interests include tumors of the brain and eye.
