Many of our residents choose careers in academic pathology. Our training program offers flexible pathways to research careers. Most residents do several projects in translational research. In addition, for those residents who have shown a productive interest in research before coming to Johns Hopkins, we offer an additional financed year doing full-time laboratory research. Residents doing this extra year may arrange to work in any laboratory of the Johns Hopkins Medical Institution.
