Graduate Program in Pathobiology: How Your Gift Helps

Support the Program

For the Pathobiology Graduate Program, philanthropy enables us to pursue our mission to provide our graduate students with a strong background in pathology and related basic sciences to prepare them for academic, research, teaching, and biotechnology careers utilizing a unique approach that combines a broad academic perspective with rigorous in-depth research training and, unlike traditional training grants, allows our first year students the flexibility to select a particular field to pursue following exposure to a wide range of areas of medicine.

Your generous support helps to ensure this style of non-committed first year experience for students in the Pathobiology Graduate Program.

Thank you for your partnership.

Types of Gifts

There are four ways to support the Pathobiology Graduate Program Fund through charitable giving: cash gifts, matching gifts, tribute giving, or gift planning.

Cash gifts

Gifts of all sizes help the Pathobiology Graduate Program to continue its efforts as a leader in excellent medical education. Gifts made with a check or credit card provide immediate support to the Program. Contributions to the Pathobiology Graduate Program can be made in memory of a loved one or in honor of a faculty member or special person. Gifts can be made outright or pledged over a period of up to five years.

Matching gifts

Many employers offer a matching gift program to their employees. For every dollar you donate to the Pathobiology Graduate Program, your employer will match it either dollar for dollar, two dollars to one dollar, or, in more generous cases, three dollars to one dollar. All you need is a Matching Gift Form from your employer's Public Affairs Department. Complete the section designated for employees and mail the form to us. We will take care of all the other details and paperwork.

Tribute giving

There are many opportunities to commemorate family members, friends, or colleagues on a birthday, anniversary, or another special occasion. Gifts can be made to the Pathobiology Graduate Program in honor of a faculty member, for example, who has played a significant role in your education. These gifts are greatly appreciated by the people being honored and their families.

A gift made to the Pathobiology Graduate Program in memory of a person who has passed away is a special way to honor a beloved friend, family member or colleague. Such a gift creates a legacy and memorializes the person by providing direct support to the Program.

Gift planning

Gift planning allows our donors to thoughtfully choose ways of giving that meet their needs-and the needs of the Pathobiology Graduate Program. A development professional from the Department of Pathology and the Johns Hopkins Institutions' Office of Gift Planning can provide you with information on effective charitable planning options so that you can achieve optimum tax, financial, and philanthropic results.
