Why We Request Blood Samples
After a family enrolls in our registry, we may also request the donation of a blood sample for our research.
Typically, we request samples from:
- Patients with pancreatic cancer.
- Spouses as a "control" (a person without pancreatic cancer to serve as a comparison) or other close contacts, including family members who are not biologically related to the patient.
- We may request blood samples from family members without pancreatic cancer, depending on the needs of our current research.
- For individuals unable to donate blood samples, there may be other ways to help our research. Please contact us.
