Division of Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology
The John K. Boitnott Fellowship in Liver Pathology
This fellowship honors John K. Boitnott, M.D., one of the great teachers at Johns Hopkins and a pioneer in liver pathology. Over the years, Dr. Boitnott has patiently taught liver pathology to generations of residents and fellows. His teaching is filled with wonderful stories, intellectual curiosity and the drive to help others.
The John K. Boitnott Fellowship promotes the research activities and/or clinical training of promising pathologists pursuing advanced training in the field of liver and gastrointestinal pathology in the Department. Laura Wood, M.D., Ph.D. was the first recipient of this fellowship. After completing her fellowship Laura joined the faculty here at Johns Hopkins and studies tumor heterogeneity using next-generation sequencing approaches.
Weihua (Grace) Song, M.D., Ph.D. is the Boitnott fellow for 2022-2023.
