Analysis of interphase cells using FISH with a probe for HER2/neu on paraffin sections.
FISH HER2 Oncology Cancer Cytogenomics Cytogenetics
HER2/NEU FISH is ordered by contacting the cytopathologist or surgical pathologist assigned to the case.
Specimens must go through Surgical Pathology to be reviewed by Pathologist.
Specimen Requirements
1 H&E and 3 unstained on plus slides
HER2/NEU FISH slides are delivered to Dr Ashley Cimino-Mathews to circle the tumor area on the H&E slide. The circled slides are placed in the blue Cytogenetics bin in the Weinberg sign out room to be picked up by the Lab.
For Sibley/Suburban, slides are given to the ordering pathologist to circle the tumor area on the H&E slide. Sibley/Suburban deliver to

LABORATORY NOTES:
1 H&E and 3 unstained slides
Slides are delivered to ordering Pathologist to indicate in the H&E the area of invasive tumor to be analyzed.
The Pathologist will place the slides in the Cytogenetics bin in the Weinberg signout room to be picked up by the Lab.
