Ciera Mangone, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Surgical Pathology and the Associate Director of Breast Pathology. She has fellowship training in general surgical pathology as well as subspecialty training in breast and genitourinary pathology and is currently the Director of the Breast Pathology Fellowship at Johns Hopkins. In addition, she is also an active member of the genitourinary pathology service. Dr. Mangone is passionate about medical student, resident, and fellow education and acts as course director for the surgical pathology clerkship at Johns Hopkins. She is actively involved in research on triple negative breast carcinomas as well as pregnancy-associated breast carcinomas. She collaborates weekly with clinical colleagues at the breast multidisciplinary tumor board, providing pathologic correlations and diagnostic clarifications critical to patient care. Dr. Mangone is also responsible for the outside consultation service in breast pathology, offering insight into challenging breast cases sent to Johns Hopkins for expert opinion. She remains dedicated to general pathology education as well as maintaining a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to the examination and diagnosis of breast disease.
