Dr. Russell Vang is Professor of Pathology and Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His area of clinical expertise is gynecologic pathology. Dr. Vang serves as the director of the Division of Gynecologic Pathology In-house Service and co-director of the Gynecologic Pathology Consultation Service.

He earned his M.D. from the University of Texas-Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Vang completed his residency in Pathology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Additional training included fellowships at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (Gynecologic & Breast Pathology) and Stanford University Medical Center (Surgical Pathology).

Dr. Vang's research interests include primary and secondary epithelial tumors of the ovary and Fallopian tube.

He serves on the editorial boards of Modern Pathology, American Journal of Surgical Pathology, and International Journal of Gynecological Pathology. He has been recognized by the International Society of Gynecological Pathologists with the Robert E. Scully Young Investigator Award. Dr. Vang is a member of several professional organizations, including the International Society of Gynecological Pathologists and the Arthur Purdy Stout Society of Surgical Pathologists.
