How can you help?
About 1.25 million (1 in 300) Americans have Type 1 Diabetes. There is currently no cure for diabetes and all those affected are dependent on insulin therapy for the rest their lives.
Our research primarily looks at how derangements in the immune system leads to the development of Type 1 Diabetes. We have made some ground-breaking, new discoveries giving new insight into the way that auto-immune diseases develop and progress. Clinical implications of these could possibly yield new therapies that could prevent the development of Type 1 Diabetes in at risk individuals and ameliorate its progression in the newly diagnosed.
Your tax-deductible donation to support our Type 1 Diabetes research will help the lives of Type 1 Diabetes patients worldwide.
