About John Wetherell

John was an avid cyclist and did many rides himself in support of various charities. He passed away in 2011 at the age of 50. Pancreatic cancer has the highest fatality rate of all cancers and is the number 3 cancer killer in the U.S. There are no early warning signs.

Private donations have a very significant impact on the war against pancreatic cancer. They provide the team at Johns Hopkins with the opportunity to make real advances in understanding pancreatic cancer.

9th Annual Event

This was the 9th annual REMEMBERING JOHN (W) ride and the group covered 20 + miles on the York Heritage Railtrail from Hanover Junction to the Mason-Dixon line and back. The day was beautiful. We had a nice turnout of 16 to ride. At our lunch/beverage break we shared stories of how John W was part of our life. We raised $3,900 this year for cancer research.

Over the past 9 years, we have now raised $33,600 in memory of John.
