Testing Includes:  Detection of BCR/ABL1 major (b2a2, b3a2, e13a2, e14a2, p210) fusion transcripts associated with t(9;22) by RT-PCR.  This assay does NOT detect minor BCR/ABL1 (e1a2, p190) transcripts).  The limit of quantification is approximately 0.002% BCR/ABL1 to ABL1 ratio (International Scale).

Specimen Requirements

Specimen:  5-6 mL whole blood in EDTA (lavender-top) tubes. For optimal results, specimen should be received in the lab within 48 hours of collection.
