Clients Requiring Laboratory Services

JHML offers phlebotomy, specimen processing and diagnostic testing for research studies and outside clients.

JHML meets licensing standards of CLIA (ID numbers 21D0709511 and 21D0680509) and State of Maryland (permit numbers 008 and 471), CAP LAP1353001 and 1353003.

Research Ordering

Per hospital guidelines, researchers are bound to order labs in Epic and have results reported to the patient’s chart unless extenuating circumstances exist. Before a Pathology account can be established your IRB must be reviewed. Researchers will be asked to provide said number to determine if epic ordering is required. If extenuating circumstances exist preventing Epic ordering the application process will move forward. Studies not required to use Epic include non-human, blinded and retrospective.
