Specimen Requirements

Specimen
     Villi
          - Minimum 25 mg of villi required; place in transport media provided; store at room temperature; - DO NOT FREEZE
          - DO NOT PUT IN FORMALIN
          - Contact the Laboratory for transport media

     Amniotic Fluid
          - Minimum 30 mL amniotic fluid required; store at room temperature; DO NOT FREEZE
          - Use multiple 15 mL centrifuge tubes or contact the lab for a sterile container

     Blood (trisomy)
          - Requires 1-2 ml blood, to add additional testing would require an additional 1-2 ml blood; store at room temperature; DO NOT FREEZE
          - Container: Green top tube - Sodium Heparin
