Our pathology committee members are enthusiastic about outreach! We see outreach and community involvement as ways to increase equity in STEM careers for students underrepresented in medicine and from disadvantaged backgrounds, and to hopefully increase interest in careers in pathology!

An in-person summer experience for the 2021 YSIT program, a joint effort between Dunbar High School, Pathology & Radiology faculty and staff for Baltimore City and Baltimore County Youth.

AP team members, including Yulanda Mitchell (Histology Technician) and Drs. M. White and L. Wake, helped the students review glass slides under the microscope and look at some tissue specimens, fun!

The CP team included Paula Mister, Ruth Umali, and Ava' Roberts, who covered topics such as phlebotomy, vaccines, coagulation in COVID patients, blood gases, and blood supply in a time of COVID-19.
